Thinking of going to the beach for a couple days I live in New Jersey?

I been to Seaside Heights I like it and love the boardwalk but I don't like the fact that I have to pay for the 3 days that I will be staying to go in the beach... I never been to Wildwood or Ocean City do you have to pay also? Can you recommend any cheap cool hotels?
