Pre paid debit card for renting?

can i use that account on my application for an apartment my 2 buddies actually have a checking account at a bank but i cant get a bank bank account cause im under chex systems so can i use my pre paid cause i use it for everything else..my buddie will write the check in his name at the months end it just says it needs to list mine on the application
