Can you have Asthma and be in the U.S. Army?
Ok I am a junior in high school and I am currently 16.I turn 17 in 6 days.I want to join the Army Reserves for two years then switch to full active Army.My problem is I was diagnosed with asthma when I was 8.I have been on control medicine until two years ago and I was then taken off of them.I have not had an attack in 3 years.I have also not had to use my inhaler for 3 years also.Does anyone know if the Army will accept me? I have heard many different things.Such as if they do and you enlist as infantry then you will get stuck driving vehicles and things like that. I want to enlist as a Cav Scout(and before everyone answers this question saying the Reserves do not have Cav Scout units, I know). Is it possible to be accepted with asthma?
