Catholics: Do you ever buy religious memorabilia?

It IS superstitious. The Catholic Church does not teach that any religious mementos are required for salvation, and even suggests that worldly attachments are inimical to spiritual progress. But it doesn't prohibit them either, and fandom and souvenir collecting are rampant human traits.
