How come this guy try to make me look like a bad guy because I focus on my wife more ?

So this local vietnamese american guy who is 4 years older is making me look like a bad guy because I don't do the things he do. I live in California and this guy is a protestor along with a bunch of other vietnamese american people and they do worthless things such as protesting against the vietnamese government. These folks are Anti Communist south Vietnamese soldiers and folks who lost the vietnam war. He says I'm a bad and self fish young man and I said no I'm a good man who is engaged to a vietnamese girl who came all the way from vietnam to be with. I said Vietnam is such a great place now. My relatives in vietnam introduced me to my wife since I didn't have much luck with vietnamese american girls in the U.S. He says if your a good man do you do any of the following ? Protest out in public against the vietnamese government in public ? Criticize the way the vietnamese government run things ? No your just naive and stupid. I said I rather study and get a college education and get married while he doesn't have the chance to go to vietnam and get married. He says you know Vietnam is a bad place and you keep your mouth shut to get married and feed the communist with money. He says you only focus on your wife because you know she may leave you for another guy some day. He says only stupid and naive guys who are losers go to vietnam and marry some random girl over there because they were deserted in the U.S. He says I have more common sense to wait for a woman who I get to know and marry her than you, Your marriage will end very soon I can guarantee you that when she sees another man she likes. How come make me look bad because I focus on my wife more ??? I call this girl my wife because she's going to be my wife sooner or later.
