How do you take permanent marker off clothing?

well i washed my clothes on accident with lipstick and permanent marker,not actually my clothes either it was my sisters so i feel so bad,but anyway i used dishwashing liquid and water to srub off the lipstick and it sort of did work,but not the permanent marker..i need help please!!!!e
