Why did Jesus have to be born through a woman?

Surely an infinitely powerful God could be more creative than having Jesus born as a normal babby. Why wasn't Jesus sent hurtling towards Earth from the heavens in a fiery ball love and miracles? Or God could have breathed life into dirt again like he did in the first place. It just sounds odd that even God had to wait 9 months for His son to be born when He could have instantly materialised Jesus in front of a crowd. The Jesus instantly materalising or hurtling towards Earth in a fiery ball would would probably convinced more of the damned heathens than the normally born babby Jesus.
