Has anyone played How to Host a Murder -- Chicago Caper?

I'm thinking of hosting a party with the Chicago Caper version of the how to Host a Murder game. I've heard that this one is a bit "contrived." I'm able to suspend my disbelief in the name of good fun, but I'm wondering how canned this game is. It's for my birthday and I really don't want to spend 4 hours on a game that is obvious or overly campy. I like cheesy, but I want it to still be a good mystery. If you have any experience with this particular version of HTHAM, I appreciate any thoughts you've had on your experiences. I've played the Cl of '54 version, so I know overall the flow of these games. Thanks!
